Jack’s King

Jack Judge and his dad Jeff fished with me again this year and we had another banner day. I think Jack is a good luck charm we always seem to have great days with him on the boat. Jack got a couple nice kings including this thirty pounder plus a couple redfish and trout not bad for a half day. 4/4/15photo

Kingfish in a flats boat

Jamal Ksar and buddy David Fritz fished with me today while David’s dad, brother, and nephew fished with Ozzie Fischer. We ran five miles south of Redfish pass to an artificial reef in 32′ of water. The kingfish bite was insane we landed nine kings the largest topping out at over forty pounds, with several others in the thirties. Not too often you get to fish for kings out of a flats boat. 4/2/15photo

I wanna a snook

Eight year old Christian Coggins jr. got a special treat a half day of fishing with his mom and dad. He had two requests a snook and a grouper, well we did not get the grouper but I think his snook might of made up for it. This massive 39″ 20lb beast he managed to catch all on his own. great job Christian. 7/10/14photo

Bucket List

Jason Adams gets to take catching a tarpon off his bucket list, with this beautiful eighty pounder he caught this morning. After several great shots at floating and daisy chaining fish one finally slurped up his crab. Joining Jason was his 12 year old son Jacob and John Hays. After landing the tarpon the wind came up so we headed for the flats where all three got to catch at least one nice redfish before calling it a morning. 6/22/14IMAG1297

Beach Tarpon

Finally some good sight fishing opportunities on the beach today, here is a nice 140 pound fish that we sight fished today on a threadfin herring. 6/9/14photo

Morning Tarpon

John Kenney one of my long time clients caught this tough eighty pounder on about our third cast of the morning. The tarpon fishing has been frustrating to say the least this tarpon season, lots of wind and the fish are acting strangely. We are still catching fish on most charters since about the third week of May. 6/7/14photo

Tarpon Time

IMG_0433Finally the weather seems to be getting right and the fish seem to be cooperating, after three weeks of wind and horrible conditions I think the tide is changing. Today was a good day for my group from Flooring Services out of Houston Matt caught this huge 160lb fish. Matt did a great job getting this fish to the boat in about 35 min.

Fast and Furious

Jim LeChase and his son-in-law Tim and grandson Timmy got into some unbelievable redfishing, after catching several trout and a few snook we went in search of a massive school of redfish. well we found them, and caught about 40 and left them biting as all three were worn out. Pictured are Tim with his massive 36″ and Timmy’s 30″. We did manage to catch one small enough to bring home for dinner. 4/14/14photo

Michael’s Snook

Mike and Michael Kenney got down for a little father son trip to Captiva and got in a few fishing charters, fishing was good with plenty of big trout and redfish. The highlight of the trip was Michael’s monster 38″ snook. 4/10/14photo

Walsh Family

Fished two tournaments this past week, the Edison Big Snook and the Captiva Rod and Gun club the first with Jeremy Walsh and his buddy Connor the second with Bob and sons Justin and Jeremy Walsh. The Edison did not go so well in that we had to catch three slot sized snook 28″-33″ we had one 32.5″ fish and two beautiful fish that were unfortunately too big a 36″ and 37″. The rod and Gun tournament went much better we had to catch a snook, trout, and redfish and add the total inches of all three. we had a 36″ snook, 25″ trout, and 29″ redfish good enough for the win. Here is Jeremy’s 37″ from the Edison and Justin’s 36″ from the rod and gun. Great job guys. 4/9/14photo 1 photo 2
